Lasagna with Gorgonzola Cheese Cream and Sausage
If you’re up for trying a new variety of your traditional lasagna recipe, you’re in for a treat. You have to like blue cheese to appreciate this lasagna with Gorgonzola Cheese and sausage – but if you’re a blue cheese aficionado, this may become your favourite lasagna variety!
Ingredients (for 6 people)
1 package lasagna noodles (if you have the time make some home-made pasta at home)
180 g Gorgonzola cheese (preferably Gorgonzola Dolce d.o.p as its creamy texture helps to spread the cheese onto lasagna)
150 g fresh sausage (salsiccia)
100 g fresh mozzarella
1 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano
salt and freshly grounded pepper
Cooking instructions
Cut the sausage into small pieces. In a skillet, cook the sausage with 2 tbsp of olive oil and after 2 minutes add 2 tbsp of water. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Boil water for the pasta. Add salt, and cook lasagna until al dente. Drain; dry on paper towels or clean dish towels.
If you’re using the no cooking required sheets of lasagna, skip the above step.
To assemble lasagna: Spread some Gorgonzola Dolce d.o.p onto the bottom of the lasagna dish. Make one layer with noodles. Top with 1/3 meat, 1/3 of Gorgonzola Dolce d.o.p cheese, 1/3 fresh mozzarella cheese and 1/3 Parmigiano. Repeat twice more until you have 3 layers. Bake for 20 to 30 minutes until top is browned. Serve and enjoy!
